Attorney killed in American Airlines crash on birthday switched flights

New details are emerging about the tragic plane crash in D.C. that killed 67 people. On Wednesday night, American Airlines flight 5342 collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter, killing all passengers aboard. The plane, en route from Wichita to Reagan National Airport, crashed into the Potomac River, and there were no survivors.
Among the victims were figure skaters Everly and Alydia, the “Ice Skating Sisters,” and the 1994 World Champion pair skaters Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov. Elizabeth Keys, an Ohio woman who was on her birthday flight, also died. Elizabeth, a law graduate and attorney, had switched flights to spend her birthday with her boyfriend. The crash, caused by the collision with the helicopter, is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
