Barron Trump once invited his entire class to the White House: Inside the unforgettable field trip

Barron Trump’s childhood was unlike most, growing up in luxury at Trump Tower before moving to the White House at age 11—the first “first son” to live there since the Kennedys. His mother, Melania, worked hard to protect his privacy, so much about his life inside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue remains private.

Barron showed a creative side early on, encouraged by Melania, who allowed him to decorate his rooms freely—even drawing on walls at Trump Tower. When Donald Trump became president in 2016, Melania kept Barron in New York to finish school before moving to Washington, where he attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal School.

During his time at the White House, Barron stayed mostly out of the public eye, traveling quietly with his family. Melania was protective, asking the media to respect Barron’s privacy, and handled all communications on his behalf. She was even upset when Donald shared memes involving Barron on social media.

Despite the low profile, Barron once gave his schoolmates a special White House experience, inviting around 80 classmates to visit, tour the residence, and meet the president and first lady. Now 17, Barron attends Oxbridge Academy in Florida. His parents are already exploring college options, including the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Donald Trump describes him as a good student and kid. Whether Barron will follow in his father’s political footsteps or choose a different path remains to be seen.
