Bruce Springsteen Talks about Trump Administration at Latest Concert, Sparking Buzz

Bruce Springsteen Criticizes Trump During UK Concert, Sparks Backlash

On May 14, 2025, Bruce Springsteen opened his “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour in Manchester, England, and used the stage to strongly criticize Donald Trump and his administration. Calling it “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous,” Springsteen urged the crowd to stand up against authoritarianism and support democracy.

His remarks drew mixed reactions online. Some fans slammed him for criticizing the U.S. president abroad, calling his comments disrespectful and suggesting he should leave the country. Others praised him for speaking out and defending American values.

Springsteen had previously endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 election, citing Trump as a threat to democracy. Though Trump won the election, Springsteen remains vocal, emphasizing unity, justice, and the importance of upholding the Constitution.

Just a day earlier, actor Robert De Niro also criticized Trump during his acceptance speech at the Cannes Film Festival, calling the U.S. fight for democracy urgent and linking the arts to freedom and resistance against authoritarianism.
