Plus-sized passenger protests being denied wheelchair assistance
Travel influencer Jaelynn Chaney is calling out Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac) for discrimination after allegedly being denied wheelchair assistance due to her size. In a viral video, Chaney, who wears size 6XL, said a staff member refused to help her after seeing her, forcing her to walk a long jet bridge without oxygen, which caused her oxygen levels to drop and nearly made her faint.

She held a protest at the airport with a sign reading “Wheelchair Access for All” and criticized the airport for excluding plus-size travelers.
Chaney, a vocal advocate for “customers of size,” previously launched a petition demanding airlines provide free extra seats, better accessibility, and staff training. It has gained over 39,600 signatures, with many sharing similar experiences of discomfort and discrimination while flying.
