CBS News Team Breaks Into a Burning House to Save 3 Dogs from LA Wildfires

A couple was away from their Los Angeles home when the Palisades wildfires broke out on January 7, 2025, leaving their three dogs behind with a dogsitter who became stranded. As fires destroyed nearby homes, Andrea quickly booked a flight to rescue them, but access was blocked by police.
Meanwhile, his wife, Sixuan, saw CBS News reporter Jonathan Vigliotti covering the fire and contacted him for help. CBS producer Christian Duran passed the message to Jonathan, and the two men bravely ventured to the house without a key, managing to rescue the anxious dogs Alma, Archie, and Hugo. Despite the fire surrounding the home, they saved the dogs before it was destroyed.
Andrea later expressed immense gratitude for their courage, reflecting on the importance of family over material possessions. He thanked the CBS team and first responders, and shared a photo with his dogs after the rescue.
