Passenger Shares Haunting Footage From Flight Before Crash — Reveals Alarming Details

On June 12, Air India Flight AI171 crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad to London. The Boeing 787-8 lost its transponder signal less than a minute after rising to 625 feet, then crashed into a building, causing a massive fire and explosion. Of the 242 passengers, most were Indian and British nationals.

A passenger, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, survived with injuries and described hearing a loud noise before the crash. The pilot, Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, had over 8,200 flight hours. Though a mayday call was reportedly made, air traffic control received no communication.

Earlier, a passenger on the inbound flight posted a video showing multiple technical issues on the plane, including broken TV screens, lights, and air conditioning. It’s unclear if these problems were related to the crash.

This is the first crash involving a Boeing 787 Dreamliner since its launch 14 years ago. Air India confirmed the incident and opened a hotline for families. Indian PM Narendra Modi and UK PM Keir Starmer expressed condolences. All flights from Ahmedabad have been suspended as rescue efforts continue.
