After her last lip reconstruction surgery, Brooklinn Khoury has shared a photo of herself and referred to the surgeon as a “true artist.”
Brooklinn Khoury, a 23-year-old professional skateboarder, is reflecting on her journey of recovery after a 2020 pit bull attack that left her without her top lip and part of her nose. Now nearing the end of her reconstructive surgeries, she shared her transformation on Instagram, expressing deep gratitude for her medical team and the emotional growth she’s experienced.

“I’ve learned to love myself through every step,” she wrote, crediting her surgeon as a true artist. She shared how appreciating her scars has helped her embrace her identity. Khoury is now preparing for her final step—a tattoo to match her reconstructed lip with her natural one—and asked followers for tattoo artist suggestions.

In a recent TikTok video, she recalled her first surgery, which lasted 20 hours and used skin and blood vessels from her arm to reconstruct her lip. “I was asleep for two days and woke up completely confused,” she shared, joking that her first question was about what her doctor had eaten during the operation.

After seven major surgeries, including one in February to recreate a natural-looking Cupid’s bow, Khoury is eager to return to her active lifestyle. “One of the hardest parts has been slowing down, but we’re almost at the finish line,” she said. She’s now “obsessed” with the results and grateful for how far she’s come.
