Kelly Clarkson Brings Garth Brooks to Tears With a Soul-Stirring Performance of ‘The Dance’—His Reaction Says It All!
On May 22, the 43rd Annual Kennedy Center Honors celebrated five honorees for their cultural contributions: choreographer Debbie Allen, musician Joan Baez, violinist Midori, Dick Van Dyke, and Garth Brooks.
During the ceremony, aired on CBS on June 6, Kelly Clarkson paid tribute to Brooks by performing his emotional song “The Dance.”
Clarkson, who has known Brooks for years, shared that the song helped her during her divorce. Her heartfelt rendition, which started a cappella, moved Brooks to tears. After her performance, Brooks stood up, removed his hat, and shouted, “Damn!”
